1. Project Management

Comprehensive project management is essential to the success of any system integration or component procurement. From monitoring documentation and managing deliverables to maintaining schedules and supporting contract administration, Interindo Multimedia end to end service line ensures that goals are met and a quality product is achieved.

  • 1.1 Need Analysis

    A thorough and complete understanding of both current and future needs is critical to the design and implementation of any successful system. Of course, understanding these needs includes not only comprehension of the final communication instance or occurrence, but also a complete grasp of each individual element required to make that occurrence possible. Specific areas of analysis include:

    • 1.) Operational requirements
    • 2.) Hardware and technology functional requirements
    • 3.) Workflow and manpower
    • 4.) Architectural preparedness
    • 5.) 3rd party support.

    Additionally, well organized and proper documentation of system requirements should regarded as the single most important aspect of system design and integration, despite being commonly overlooked. After all, a thorough and complete system requirements document is the basis by which potential technology vendors can propose solutions, submit statements of work and most importantly design acceptance test plans. The system requirements document should begin and end as one of the essential points of reference in any integration project.
  • 1.2 Design Development

    Design development begins with the preparation of a conceptual design, which is intended to establish a high level visualization of the various elements of one or more possible technical solutions.

    This document enables the customer and their dedicated team of engineers to work through the various elements of operational, physical, and interface requirements for a given solution. The final conceptual design becomes the second element of system requirements documentation and forms an outline for the creation of detailed system design.

    1.3 Hardware(Vendor) Qualification

    Today, most hardware requirements can be fulfilled by multiple manufacturers and vendors each of whom harbor unique attributes in regards to:

    • * Technical specifications
    • * Track record
    • * Operational or functional capabilities
    • * Reliability and redundancy features
    • * Support
    • * Warranty

    Through careful analysis of various potential vendors and juxtaposition of their offerings against requirements documents, Interindo Multimedia can ensure that a clients final solution will meet all of the system’s functional and operational objectives. Additionally, through careful management of this process, multiple vendors may be qualified as potential solution providers (thus encouraging optimal price performance competition).

    And, while reviewing proposed solutions, it’s important to note that various components have different attributes. As such, each solution must be carefully analyzed in order to determine its impact on overall system design and functionality, as well as possible peripheral costs. This ensures that the final selected solution provides the best possible value rather than simply the lowest price.
  • 1.4 RFQ Preparation

    Once it is determined that a vendor can meet the requirements for a particular aspect of a system, it is critical that the vendor is wholly aware of a customer’s expectations (not only from the aspects of the technological solution, but also from the aspects of supply, support, and warranty). By extension, it is equally important that vendors formally acknowledge their understanding of these requirements and agree that submitting pricing accurately reflects such.

    1.5 Procurement Documentation

    In most designs, components are derived from a variety of vendors and need to be synthesized into a single, cohesive system. To facilitate this, manufacturers typically provide application programming interfaces (commonly referred to as “APIs”) which allow 3rd party products to make “calls” that either return information or data or cause a predetermined action to occur.

    Unfortunately, conflicts often arise because manufacturers prefer to limit their responsibility to the functionality of their own APIs. While this seems perfectly reasonable on its surface, the practical application of this philosophy may often result in limited (or irregular) system functionality. By thorough documentation of the requirements for an interface between multiple manufacturers—and subsequent assignment of specific information or functional response—most conflicts can be avoided. Likewise, when an event of conflict does occur, it can be easily determined which manufacturer owns the issue

    1.6 System Commissioning Supervision

    Many subsystems within an integrated solution require professional services that must be performed by the manufacturer’s trained technical representatives. Due to the complex nature of modern components, the order in which these services are performed is often critical to the successful unification of disparate technologies.

    Unfortunately, the technicians that perform these services are often scheduled well in advance. To ensure timely delivery of our client’s systems, Interindo Multimedia reviews technologies and their required professional services, subsequently developing comprehensive schedules to manage all required work.

    1.7 Quality Assurance

    We recognize that the value drawn from a system will be the direct result of its initial build. For this reason, we draw great pride from our unique quality assurance practices and their ability to garner spectacular results for clientele.

    Our proprietary issue tracking software includes multiple steps of escalation and verification, as well as fault determination and corrective action verification. Additionally, issues can be assigned to one or more vendors and each assigned issue can be tracked and logged. Once accountability has been determined, reports can be created for submission to vendors to help communicate their responsibilities in setting things right.
